Phases for the Liberty Colony:
Phase 1 - Initial vote
All persons who apply to be a Colonist will be eligible to vote. Persons will be able to select up to seven of the locations listed on the Colony location's page. The top seven vote getting locations will be voted on again in Phase 2. Only one vote per person per location is allowed. This vote will take place upon 200 applications being received or on January 15, 2009 whichever takes longer.
Phase 2 - Secondary vote
All persons from Phase 1 will be eligible to vote. In addition a $100 contribution is required for each person wanting to vote. This contribution will be held in escrow and divided equally among all Colonists who arrive at the location within 60 days of the completion of the Reconnaissance Phase. There will be seven possible locations at this stage and each person now will get to select two locations. Persons at this stage are committed to the principle that if either of their two voted locations is selected they are willing to settle in the Colony within 60 days of the completion of the Reconnaissance Phase. This vote will occur 30 calendar days after the Phase 1 vote.
Phase 3 - Reconnaissance Phase
All persons that voted in Phase 2 will be eligible to be involved in this phase. This phase consists of a physical reconnaissance of the selected area. Each person will be required to provide their own transportation to the location. The purpose of this is to select the physical territory for the Colony based on an area of 5-10 acres per Colonist. This will occur within 60 days after Phase 2. Only those members that attend the Reconnaissance Phase will be able to select the specific location. If there is not an agreement by the Reconnaissance Team then any choice between multiple areas will be voted on by all participating members from Phase 2.
Phase 4 - Settlement
All persons participating in Phase 2 are eligible to begin immediate settlement in the Colony. Any Colonist who arrives within 60 days of the site being selected in Phase 3 will receive a pro rata share of funds received in Phase 2. Any Colonist arriving within 60 days will also receive 5-10 acres of land allocated on a first come first serve basis. After 60 days, any remaining land in the Colony will be allocated to existing Colonists on a first come first serve basis.
